Who knew...?

So, this week has been full of "who knew" moments, such as who knew that boat work required so many stinkin' towels?  Towels for sweat, towels for overflowing AC units, towels for dishes, towels for showering, towels for dusting, towels for staining, towels to wipe up Mac's puke...good grief.  Laundry day was a LOT of fun!

We did finally get our new non-leaking AC unit installed, and it's working wonderfully.  Who knew that one little AC stand could take 3+ days to build!  JB is getting pretty handy though...and we even bored a 6" hole through a wall to vent our AC!  I'm sure you're all as excited about this as we are.;)  The boat has clarified what should be important to us: 1. Carpentry-build something 2. Electrical-flip or wire something 3. Meteorlogical-know where we are and where we want to go and if Mother Nature is going to let us go there 4. Organizational-who knew we had so much crap and where are we going to put it all because the storage unit is getting full and 5. Logistical-who wants our money and what do we get for it...wash and repeat.  So, a 6" hole falls under "high adventure" in our logbook.

In other news, I don't want to jinx us, but we've greatly reduced our incidences of bruised shins, broken toenails, and dented skulls.  I dare say we're getting used to living on a boat.  Even Mac has found his favorite nooks and resting spots.  Who knew that all he wanted was my clothes cubby?

Our pep talk to each other is: "We've got a game plan, we're checking things off the list, and we're getting closer every week to actually leaving."  So, keep your fingers crossed that we continue to make progress.  Otherwise this blog is going to get rather boring if all I can write about is laundry day!;)
